Our travel dates to Ethiopia are December 7th-14th, but we decided going to pick up our son wasn't crazy enough for this trip. We will actually be leaving November 27th (1 week from today, YIKES!!) and going to Cairo, Egypt to visit some friends who live there for a little over a week. So the list of things is quickly growing of the have to get dones before we leave. I never dreamed with the court date being pushed back a week we would get this travel date. So in a week we are attempting to paint his room, get it all set up, pack, figure what in the world we still need for him, decorate for Christmas (we'll be getting back on the 14th and might have our hands a little full so want it done before we get back), pack, wrap things up at our jobs, pack, say goodbye to family that will be moving while we are gone, purchase the humanitarian aid items, oh and did I mention pack (no idea what to pack, I just know that has to be on the list somewhere). Please pray that we don’t forget anything, and that we don’t stress over little things. We have family and friends that have been great and offered to help where they can. Though it is hard for me to accept help we really appreciate it.

- December 15, 2009 - Arrive home at 5:36pm!
- December 7, 2009 - Gotcha Day!!
- November 27, 2009 - Leave for Egypt then onto Ethiopia!
- November 19, 2009 - 2nd Court Date: WE PASSED!!!
- November 10, 2009 - 1st Court Date: Didn't pass birthfather in car accident
- October 22, 2009 - Received our Court Date for November 10th!
- August 25, 2009 - REFFERRAL: WE HAVE A SON!
- December 18, 2008 - Received e-mails from both Kate with KBS and Mary with Gladney letting us know we are now on the waiting list
- December 14, 2008 - Sent final documents to KBS for OK authentication
- December 13, 2008 - After 2 1/2 months we finally get the I-171H back
- September 30, 2008 - Went to OKC for CIS fingerprints. That afternoon drove down to Ft. Worth for special Gladney Ethiopian dinner night
- August 22, 2008 - Received Final Copy of Home Study
- August 22, 2008 - Gladney Approved
- July 22, 2008 - Homestudy!!
- April 24, 2008 - Told Sarah's parents and one of her brothers over homemade icecream (tastes like Birthday Cake from Marble Slab)
- April 23, 2008 - Told Jonathan's parents while learning to make homemade noodles (an old reciepe of his great-grandma)
- April 18, 2008 - Receive Ethiopia Application. Working Towards "Gladney Approval"
- April 15, 2008 - Submit International Application
- April 14, 2008 - Officialy told we can begin adoption process. Agree that only 1 parent must be 25
- January 16, 2008 - Submitted Information Sheet. Initially told we both must be 25
- January 6, 2008- Attended Gladney Information Session in OKC
- December 30, 2007- Request Gladney Information Packet
- April 2007 - Decided to look into the adpotion process.

Hey guys...so excited for yall. Just a little advice, from a mommy who WAY overpacked when we adopted...take about half of what you think you'll need for him :0) Especially if he's in an area where you can buy things there.

That is good news, have a safe trip. What an awesome Chritmas present.
